Whaddup!

In case you missed my sneak peek of Second Self Beer Company’s brand new brewery based on the Atlanta’s west side a few weeks ago along with an interview with co-owner/brewer Jason Santamaria and biz partner Chris Doyle here, it’s time to be one of the first in the world to sip what all the hype is about! Jay, Chris, and the rest of the Second Self posse know how to throw down when it comes to brewing, so starting with their first official pour at Leon’s Full Service tonight at 6 p.m., it’s on! ALL of their beers will be on tap including the Thai Wheat, Red Hop Rye, LIPA IPA, and Saison, so let’s get to sippin’! If you can’t make it tonight, there are a lot more opportunities listed in the official press release below.

Second Self Beer Company Debuts Flagship Brews

Beer enthusiasts are invited to enjoy the brewery’s unique creations across the city to celebrate Second Self Launch Week

Second Self Beer Company will premier its highly anticipated brews to the public beginning on Tuesday, September 30. The Second Self signature launch ales will be available at various restaurants and pubs across the city.

Beer Architect Jason Santamaria and Alechemist Chris Doyle created their beers with high-quality ingredients and advanced techniques to ensure an exceptional product for consumers. The flavor profile of the brews eloquently showcases the brewers’ great pride in the product and the use of distinctive components that create one-of-a-kind tastes. Second Self’s opening beers include:

Thai Wheat - A spicy American wheat beer as exotic as the country that inspired it. This beer uses both fresh lemongrass and ginger to give it a refreshing aroma and taste, taking drinkers on a trip across the globe. The beer is kept dry, letting the spices stand out on their own, making it a unique experience. This flavorful wheat ale is great for an escape into the Second Self.

Red Hop Rye – Upon first smell of this beer, consumers notice an abundance of hoppy citrus aromas while with your first sip, the spicy rye mixed with hops balanced by a malty backbone from American caramel and honey malts is noticeable. These give the Red Hop Rye its dark red color. This is a great example of an American hybrid of beer, a Red Rye IPA. Red Hop Rye is perfect while relaxing after work or with a dish as bold and flavorful as this beer.

LIPA - The LIPA (“lahy-puh”) is proof that a robust and aromatic IPA doesn’t need to be a high gravity IPA. A distinctive blend of hops, The LIPA is a smooth IPA that remains light in body and can be consumed all day, making this hoppy summer seasonal great for any occasion.

Saison - No messing around here. This is a traditional saison, using only the finest fresh American ingredients. Second Self brewers took their time making this limited release beer and it speaks for itself. It is everything a saison should be, delicate, dry and flavorful with notes of citrus and pepper. Just like a proper saison, it is good for any occasion, and just about every meal.

With launch week kicking off on Tuesday, September 30, Atlantans will be able to imbibe on Second Self brews at a variety of participating restaurants and bars across the city. The release schedule includes the following dates and locations:

About Wild Monk
Owned by the Maglaris family (which also owns prasino in LaGrange), Wild Monk debuted in December 2011 as the first gastropub in LaGrange, IL.

Since opening its doors in December 2011, Wild Monk has won over beer lovers, and now it re-focuses to highlight their food service. The items on the menu steer away from standard bar food, with Chef Francisco Vazquez inspiring a new menu based on craft food. This means food that is made completely in house from raw ingredients. From cheese, sauces, cooked meats, that are all made in house as well as our condiments used in the kitchen, such as tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, Cajun salt, chili powder, and mustard all made using beers. For more information, visit www.wildmonk.com.

About BrickStone Restaurant & Brewery
BrickStone Restaurant & Brewery opened as a small-town brewery in 2006 in Bourbonnais, IL., using a tiny, 5 barrel brewing system. By 2008, its hand-crafted microbrews - featuring the finest hops and malts - had gained such popularity that BrickStone expanded to a state-of-the-art Newlands Brewhouse with a capacity of 25 BBL brews.

Today, BrickStone is best known for its diverse selection of award-winning craft beers, including its 2012 Great American Beer Festival Gold Medal and 2012 World Beer Cup Bronze Medal winning BrickStone APA and 2013 Great American Beer Festival Gold Medal winning Belgo-APA.

In fall 2014, BrickStone Restaurant & Brewery will further expand by adding a separate, fully-automated 50 BBL Brewhouse and release a Blood Orange Hefeweizen and Robust Porter, among other unique brews. For more information, visit http://www.brickstonebrewery.com/.

Tongue & Groove is gettin' it in with Grey GooseGosling’s Black Seal Rum, and Moet!
What’s up?!

After a great weekend in the ATL, I am getting back in the swing of things. My company, AllWays Open Creative, threw down for our annual Latin ConTEMPOrary Night in Loews Atlanta Hotel on Friday and it was off the chain! Besides the upcoming video of the entire production, here is a clip on my Instagram to let you know how we got down!

Well to keep the party going, one of Atlanta’s most prominent and successful nightclubs—Tongue & Groove—is celebrating their 20th anniversary in grand fashion. [Main St NE, Atlanta, GA 30324; (404) 261-2325]
After reading some of the many ways they are celebrating, I thought partygoers would be interested in their VIP experience and nightly bottle service they are promoting leading up to their official birthday on November 20th.

Come to Latin ConTEMPOrary Night at Loews Hotel this Friday!

Art! Drinks! Music! Dance! Bites!

Hola!!!

So I just got back from Ithaca. New York and had a blast in the entire weekend! Now it's Atlanta and I am hitting the ground running in preparation for the second installment of the Latin ConTEMPOrary art show and celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month hosted by my creative agency AllWays Open and Loews Atlanta Hotel starting at 9 p.m.
Park at the lot across the street (south of Loews) or in the RiRa lot on Crescent (west of Loews) which is also across the street. If you want to be super crafty, maybe take the Marta into Midtown. There is the Midtown Music Fest going on that night too. Atlanta is going to be popping! Last year's was crazy as hundreds danced and partied the night away throughout Loews' grandiose lobby and bar eleven area. See last year's video here (Latin ConTEMPOrary One).
By the way, the art show is featuring Alexi Torres whose clients include Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith as seen in their house here during a David Blaine episode: http://www.alexitorres.com/P-Videos.htmOprah Winfrey Elton John, and others!

It's going to be nuts! Read teh flyers for the rest of the highlights going on throughout the evening.
Oh, and here is a tip: Get there right at 9 so that you can get some of the complementary bites being served as well as see the live band perform for a whole hour!

See you there!
